Job Description:

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Develop IDP's by successfully emulating, adapting and replicating current client design rules. The SME, on occasion may be required to produce and/or modify a simplified baseline drawing for existing buildings.
  • The SME shall edit these building plans and design to ensure consistency of bundled network VTC installations agency wide.
  • Provide assessments of technical requirements provided by client representatives including any standardized design and/or engineering criteria expected for the design. The assessments coupled with the technical requirements will form the basis of the design approach and final IDP.
  • The SME shall ensure continuous process improvement by consulting and recommending the use of "emerging technologies" used in the commercial or other Governmental agencies in the areas of structured VTC design, expendable materials, and installation practices.
  • SME's design and engineering products include all necessary efforts to successfully implement, manage, and produce end work products, and provide services to support the areas of integrated data network VTC IDP.
  • Provide program management oversight for development of the IDP
  • Gather site technical requirements for new client facility construction projects, facility renovations and refurbishment efforts. Depending on project size, requirements could be gathered over a teleconference, or by conducting a site survey.
  • Shall organize, direct, and manage contract operation support functions.
  • Shall meet with customer and SME personnel to formulate and review task plans and deliverable items. Ensures strict conformance to/with program task schedules and prices.
  • As demonstrated by their required resume, the SME shall have domain and expert technical knowledge of structured network VTC design and installation practices applying related industry standards.
  • Shall have experience of interacting and involvement with client negotiations and interfacing with senior management. Decision-making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation.
  • Shall lead the effort to secure and protect all government information and ensure the IDP meets all the RFQ requirements.
  • Shall be located at the SME facility unless directed to travel for project management purposes by the COR. Active Top-Secret Clearance is required on the day of quote submission and transferable to the Client.
  • Shall participate in all phases of installation design plan with emphasis on the planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, and presentation phases.

Required:
  • Five (5) years of experience
  • Develop IDP's shall include the following: Master Equipment and Parts List, Single Line Diagram, Cable Block Diagram, Room Arrangement Drawings, and Elevation drawings for Racks/Podiums. The Contractor, on occasion may be required to produce and/or modify a simplified baseline drawing for existing buildings. The Contractor shall edit these building plans and design to ensure consistency of bundled network cable installations agency wide.
  • Provide assessments of technical requirements provided by FBI representatives including any standardized design and/or engineering criteria expected for the design. The assessments coupled with the technical requirements will form the basis of the design approach and final IDP.
  • The Candidate shall ensure continuous process improvement by consulting and recommending the use of "emerging technologies" used in the commercial or other Governmental agencies in the areas of VTC designs, expendable materials, and installation practices.
  • The Candidate will receive an official Project Control Sheet (PCS) as project information is updated and becomes available from the COR appointed to the task. The list shall include deadlines, which are driven by the project schedules, which are subject to change over the course of the build-out process.
  • The Candidate shall complete all assigned IDP's within the PCS provided by the Government. The Government is procuring design services for 50 IDPs a year.
  • The Candidate shall update IDPs in accordance with evolving client needs prior to acceptance. The contractor shall ensure the high-quality level of the finished product.

Preferred:
  • Ability to travel on occasion
  • Understanding of Both Large and Small Scale VTC Designs
  • Other Preferred Requirements Position will be located at the FBI HQ in DC 2/3 days a week and Herndon 2/3 days a week unless on travel.
