Job Description:

Red Hat will provide a Dedicated Enterprise Engineer to work alongside the Customer with the following:
tasks:
  • Red Hat Consultants will operate under the general direction of the Customer, providing informal mentoring, general knowledge sharing and configuration of Red Hat technologies.
  • Working with the Customer to mentor, share knowledge, and strategize on how to leverage Red Hat technologies.
  • Serving as liaison, with the ability to reach back into the Red Hat support organization
  • Assisting Customer in enhancing and supporting the Customer software build and development environment
  • Assisting Customer in developing documented enterprise support processes considering Customer policies
  • Working with Customer to support setup, configuration and maintenance of Red Hat products: Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP)
  • Working with Customer to update existing processes and procedures to allow for a consistent, reliable and repeatable implementation of the OpenShift platform
  • Provide validation of the OpenShift Cluster environment using steps provided in the OpenShift documentation
  • Assisting Customer in defining OpenShift deployment configuration for targeted workloads, including replication, probes, and resource requests
  • Assisting Customer in refining and updating migration plans to transition applications from existing OpenShift clusters onto new clusters
  • Assisting Customer with migrating applications to new OpenShift 4 clusters
  • Assisting Customer in configuring optional OpenShift Certified Operators, as defined here: https://catalog.Redhat.Com/software/operators/explore, such as OpenShift Metrics (Prometheus) and OpenShift Logging (EFK)
  • Note, not all certified operators may work in Customer environments due to security constraints.
  • Assisting Customer with deployment and configuration of Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management and/or Red Hat Advanced Container Security, if appropriate subscriptions are available and if directed by Customer.
  • Assisting Customer in configuring an appropriate Container Registry based on the Customer's requirements
  • Configure OpenShift Container Platform to utilize supported Customer storage providers
  • Provide guidance during OCP upgrades and migrations as needed
  • Assisting Customer with troubleshooting and resolution of problems within OCP infrastructure
  • Communicate with designated customer personnel by phone and email concerning the details of the issue, expected resolution, and root cause analysis
  • Escalate issues within Red Hat Global Support Services as appropriate
  • Present status information on issues and problems at the weekly team meetings
  • Document problem resolution steps and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence

Customer Engagement Report:
  • In addition to the Professional Services, the Red Hat project team will prepare a site-specific engagement overview/summary, in collaboration with Customer, listing the tasks or describing at a high level the Professional Services performed by Red Hat (the "Consulting Engagement Report: or "CER"), designed to capture, to the extent applicable:
    • Red Hat Consultants and Customer engagement participants
    • An executive summary of goals, objectives, and ongoing issues or dependencies
    • An overview of engagement purpose and approach
    • Implementation details and verification
    • A summary of knowledge transfer topics by Red Hat Consultants, and
    • Technical next steps with Red Hat suggestions
